Not quite sure what the issue is, but I’m feeling a little bit of writer’s block this week. Must be from all the excitement of YTT graduation and beginning my new yoga teaching schedule.
So, for a little treat I thought I would share one of my favorite yoga playlist songs, “I Am” courtesy of Seal and Guru Singh, from the 2001 album titled Game of Chants.
Besides being a really beautiful song, it also has an incredible message. It reminds me of my go to meditation mantra so hum (I am that), and it makes for a powerful and inspirational chant.
Short and sweet today and hopeful that I Am back to my regular schedule and full of creativity real soon!
Anyone know a good mantra or chant to cure writer’s block?
This is one of my fave songs! I also love Fortunate on the same album ♥
beautiful song.
hum… writer’s block. i find when I force the writing, it sounds like it. but when i write from experience, then, it always surprises me. write from what have you experienced, really experienced.
this morning… it was my discussion with my son on kisses (he’s 9 and think they are reserved for moms only and only on the head, never the lips! furthermore, other girls are not allowed to go anywhere near him or his lips! ; ) )…. then it got me thinking about how in my own life …..
it’s life. write from life.
I enjoy your blog… look forward to more.
in joy,
Mel
I can’t believe I am just finding your blog. I must live under a rock. Anyway, I love what you are offering here. By the way, great song!
Great song…one of my favs for warm ups or for savasana or to put on when I am feeling insecure….No help for writing, I have permanent writers block. Sometimes you just dont have much to say and that is where you are….Thanks for all that you do….
Thanks to all of you for the great advice and kind words! Feeling lots of love at the DDD today! 🙂
I like this song, and have been really inspired by your playlists. The goddess list has helped me personally. Thanks!
Argh!! Writers Block, well, what can I say? Happens to all of us! Usually music DOES help me though, I play music that reminds me of the project, such as if it is moody or not, I’m writing some sad stuff at the moment and moodier music helps. On the other hand, sometimes music can make me “feel” like an artsy writer, like Joni Mitchell music! Sometimes up energetic music helps, like this chant or rock . Caffeine helps, chocolate, yoga! In fact, inversions seem to really help me and wheel pose!
By now your writer’s block is gone I am sure, I’m behind in my reading. Good luck!
HeRd great music in my flow class yesterday. Instructor said it was Seal from Seal IV. It was a lovely chant-like song, approximately 50 minutes long. I would love to add it to my music collection for home practice. Is anyone familiar with it? I can’t seem to locate it.
Went to a guided meditation class yesterday and heard this song from Seal, “I am”…Always touches a special place in my heart.
