First off, I want to go on the record to say that I have an absolute love affair with yoga pants. I just did a quick survey of my closet, and now that I’ve purged most of my old corporate power suits, it’s official: I own more pairs of yoga pants than regular pants.
While my wardrobe makes me smile, I’m a bit embarrassed to admit that I actually get smitten with pairs of pants, declaring like a grade school girl which yoga style is my new all-time BFF. Right now the ones I’m swooning over are the fold-over French terry leggings from LVR. What’s so awesome about these organic leggings, you ask?
1) They have a flattering fold-over top that acts as a skirt to cover the bum. Take it from a confessed yoga-pant-aholic: this really comes in handy when you walk around in public in your yoga pants!
2) The French terry fabric LVR uses is very, very comfortable and warm. In fact, these are the warmest leggings I have ever owned, and when you teach and practice yoga in Ohio in the winter, that’s a truly beautiful thing.
3) The LVR website describes the fabric as a “buttery” soft organic cotton blend, and I couldn’t agree more. These leggings are smooth and rich just like butter!
4) LVR fold-over styles get me out of my black yoga pant rut with bright colors and groovy tie-dye inspired prints.
5) It just feels good to wear something that is not only made eco-friendly, but made in the USA.
Word of caution: While these leggings are perfect in a regular yoga studio, do not wear them to a hot yoga class unless you really want to sweat. From a temperature standpoint, LVR’s fold-over shorts would be much better for hot yoga.
This is a yoga company that walks the talk, giving back to their community and partnering with ARCAS, an animal rescue center in Guatemala. A portion of LVR’s revenues is donated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of wild animals.
I love, love, love me some awesome yoga pants – and you can be an LVR lover too by getting 20% off any purchase with code TDD20. (FYI, LVR has really cute tops, dresses, and scarves too.) But hurry to get yours today because this code is only valid until December 15, 2013!
Hi! How did you find the sizes of LVR pants mesh up with Lulu or other brands? They look great!
Elise:
Believe it or not, I don’t own a pair of Lulu’s. I wear a size 6 and on LVR’s site, that matched up to a medium, and that is what I ordered. The medium fit great – not too snug or too big. The legs were a bit long, but I have short legs and just let the fabric bunch up near the bottom. I thought LVR provided good information on their site to help make the appropriate size decision. Hope that helps!
I love these yoga pants with the fold-over. It’s nice to see something a little unique but still have the comfort and functionality of my fave yoga pants. Although I love my several pairs of black yoga pants, they do get a little boring. I appreciate the sizing information in the above comment as well!
