I frequently mention in my yoga classes the importance of nurturing and taking good care of yourself, getting enough rest and sleep, and doing things that are enjoyable and bring you pleasure. I heeded my own advice recently and pampered myself with a complimentary massage at Massage Heights in return for writing about my experience.

I got to the appointment and saw that instead of posting their Hours of Operation, they had posted their Hours of Relaxation. How cool is that?! It made me stop right in my tracks and think….hummmm what are MY hours of relaxation? I would be embarrased if I had to post my hours of relaxation, as I always try to add more items on my to do list than there are hours in the day, and rest doesn’t always make the list. If you had to post your hours of relaxation, what would they be?

As I was filling out the paperwork for the massage, one of the questions was; When was your last massage? I stopped again and laughed, because it has been so long that I couldn’t even remember. I seriously need to start practicing this nurturing and loving kindness stuff more than I do.

The Massage Heights facility I visited in Strongsville has a calming vibe the minute you walk in the door. The massage rooms and the whole facility looks brand new and is stylishly decorated. I was escorted back to the massage room by Danielle Pearson who was my masseuse. You have a choice of what type of massage you would like and I selected deep tissue, and Danielle did not dissapoint. There were quite a few moments where the massage hurt so good. During the hour massage there were a lot of spa-like extras to add to the experience, like aromotherapy scents, a hot towel placed on my neck and shoulders to prepare it for massage, a scented eye pillow to cover and relax my eyes, and a heated table. You can also “Elevate” any massage with hot stone therapy, a reviving foot scrub, or a revitalizing face massage.

All smiles after a super relaxing and yummy massage – thanks Danielle!

After the massage I was complimenting Danielle on the great job she did with the massage and how relaxed I was. She told me that she loves what she does, and you can definitely feel that in her hands and the energy she brings to the massage.

Massage Heights has a location in Crocker Park, Westgate, and Strongsville here in northeast Ohio and a pretty wide footprint across the US. When you go for your first visit you can get an introductory 1-hour custom massage for $49.99 or a facial for $59.99, and they offer monthly membership packages that make it easy and affordable to keep pampering yourself. What I really like is that they are open “for relaxation” 7 days a week with a staff of more than 20 licensed therapists, so it is easy to make an appointment when you need it.

Are you taking good care of you? Are you taking the time to relax and recharge? What are your Hours of Relaxation? Thank you Massage Heights for this little nudge and reminder on the importance to take time out for rest and also for the complimentary massage.
