This class is held in the Ganesha Studio.

An uplifting class that begins with a seated pranayama (breath) exercise, followed by a slower paced yet invigorating vinyasa yoga practice. The last 15 minutes of class are dedicated to a long sweet savasana and instruction for a quiet period of meditation to help your mind calm and let your body relax and absorb the peace and stillness. If you are seeking detailed asana and meditation instruction, or desire a slower paced yoga practice with longer holds and focus on breath and proper alignment, this class is for you! Class length is 75 minutes. All levels welcome.

5-Week Beginners’ Class Series @ Yoga Bliss Akron

Have you always wanted to practice yoga but didn’t know where to start? If you are seeking a yoga experience that will demystify yoga and teach the basics in a supportive and fun environment, then this workshop is for you! The workshop will begin with a brief introduction to yoga. Next, we’ll move on to warm-ups, pranayama (breathing) exercises, step-by-step instruction of the basic asanas (yoga postures) to demonstrate proper alignment and safety. Throughout the workshop, suggestions for modifications to poses will be presented to ensure that everyone can participate, and we’ll review proper use of props and the Sanskrit and English names of the yoga postures. What to bring: A yoga mat, water, and an open beginner’s mind. Questions will be encouraged and are welcome throughout the class. Wear comfortable clothing. Class is held in the Ganesha Studio (maintained at 70 degrees). Class size is limited to 16 students so register early to secure your space!

Gentle Flow @ Yoga Bliss

Gentle Flow classes begin with warm-ups and proceed to step-by-step asana instruction, providing you with an active yet gentle practice that focuses on breath work, strengthening of the core and back, stretching, toning, relaxation, and meditation. This class will help you open up areas of tightness, such as hips and shoulders, and get you moving with basic Sun Salutations sequences—always with suggestions for modifications and proper alignment. Perfect for those newer to yoga, or who desire a slower paced yoga practice in a supportive and fun environment.

Come learn about the powerful benefits of yoga and meditation and how just 5 minutes of daily meditation can clear your mind and bring you happiness! Maria Santoferraro (E-RYT 500) of the Daily Downward Dog will guide you through yoga movements suitable for all levels to prepare for meditation and then guide you through several different types of meditation including breath, visual with yantras, walking, and guided. No experience required and yoga mats are available.
