5-Week Beginners’ Class Series @ Yoga Bliss Akron

Have you always wanted to practice yoga but didn’t know where to start? If you are seeking a yoga experience that will demystify yoga and teach the basics in a supportive and fun environment, then this workshop is for you! The workshop will begin with a brief introduction to yoga. Next, we’ll move on to warm-ups, pranayama (breathing) exercises, step-by-step instruction of the basic asanas (yoga postures) to demonstrate proper alignment and safety. Throughout the workshop, suggestions for modifications to poses will be presented to ensure that everyone can participate, and we’ll review proper use of props and the Sanskrit and English names of the yoga postures. What to bring: A yoga mat, water, and an open beginner’s mind. Questions will be encouraged and are welcome throughout the class. Wear comfortable clothing. Class is held in the Ganesha Studio (maintained at 70 degrees). Class size is limited to 16 students so register early to secure your space!

If you are seeking detailed asana and meditation instruction, or desire a slower paced yoga practice with longer holds and focus on breath and proper alignment, this class is for you! Join me at Sherod Park for this Full Moon Yoga Class! We’ll do some moon salutations, yoga mat dancing in the moonlight, and definitely, meditate under the radiance of the full moon. Please plan to dress in layers in case it cools down when the sun sets. All levels welcome. This is a donation based class.
