5-Week Beginners’ Class Series @ Yoga Bliss Akron

Have you always wanted to practice yoga but didn’t know where to start? If you are seeking a yoga experience that will demystify yoga and teach the basics in a supportive and fun environment, then this workshop is for you! The workshop will begin with a brief introduction to yoga. Next, we’ll move on to warm-ups, pranayama (breathing) exercises, step-by-step instruction of the basic asanas (yoga postures) to demonstrate proper alignment and safety. Throughout the workshop, suggestions for modifications to poses will be presented to ensure that everyone can participate, and we’ll review proper use of props and the Sanskrit and English names of the yoga postures. What to bring: A yoga mat, water, and an open beginner’s mind. Questions will be encouraged and are welcome throughout the class. Wear comfortable clothing. Class is held in the Ganesha Studio (maintained at 70 degrees). Class size is limited to 16 students so register early to secure your space! Yoga for Menopause @ Release Yoga

Hot Flashes? Foggy Mind? Insomnia? Mood Swings? If you are experiencing the signs of peri-menopause or menopause and would like to learn more about how to feel better with practices like yoga and meditation, than this workshop is for you!
The workshop will start with discussion on how to embrace the physical and emotional changes that occur as we move past our 40’s and how to flow into your 50’s and beyond with grace, ease, and joy. Using inspirational asana, pranayama, restorative yoga, mudras, and meditation, this session is designed specifically for women who are approaching or have already experienced menopause. This workshop is suitable for those who are new to yoga who may be thinking I’m too old or inflexible to start yoga and also those who have been practicing yoga for a while and are starting to notice that their body is craving a gentler, kinder yoga practice.
