I got chills – they’re multiplying
And I’m losing control
‘Cause the power you’re supplying
It’s ELECTRIFYING….
Come on, sing it with me the way Danny (John Travolta) sings to Sandy in Grease!

I couldn’t get the visual of John Travolta shaking his booty and his ELECTRIFYING declaration out of my mind the whole time I was trying out my new yogawear from Electric Yoga. This company has some of the brightest, boldest, and most electrifying yoga clothes I’ve seen, and I couldn’t wait to amp up my yoga wardrobe and practice with these styles.
Electric Yoga sent me a fantastic surge of energy in the form of their Enlightened Print Tank. Check out how pretty and unique this tank design is – then click on this link to see it in three different colors! All of the vibrant shades in the Electric Yoga line were selected to resonate internal energy and charge the wearer with positivity. That is exactly what happened when I saw the way the thunderbolt graphics and white lines running down my belly provided an optical illusion of ripped abs (LOL – hey, a girl can dream). The back of the tank is super cute too!
This tank is made with an ultra soft stretch material called ELOY™. It has wicking performance that kept me dry and comfortable when I wore it in a hot yoga class. The length of the tank is extra long to cover the belly and does not ride up when reaching your arms up overhead in urdhva hastasana (upward salute). Although I would prefer a little more padding in the bra, the tank does include a shelf bra for support. I will caution you that the sizes run small. I originally ordered the small and had to return it for the medium/large. I’m also happy to report that the tank passed my wash test, and I can tell it is going to hold up for many years of high voltage yoga practices!
One of the reasons I wanted to promote Electric Yoga is that the company focuses on creating wellness by offering clothing that encourages people to lead happier, healthier, energetic, and well-balanced lives. Michele Bohbot – the owner of Electric Yoga, a top fashion designer, and mom to seven kids – found balance and happiness through yoga. Her hope is that the colorful designs will inspire women to embrace their electricity within and then share it with the world.
I also got the opportunity to try their patent-pending Anti-Slip Yoga Pant, which has a rubberized anti-slip grip on the foot that allows you to practice yoga without a mat. You can pair it with their Anti-Slip Glove for a totally mat-less experience. I loved the thickness of the material in these pants, the way they felt against my skin, and they definitely kept me warm. They are made with a moisture wicking material called DRYFLEX that absorbs sweat (88% Micropoly, 12% Spandex). I wore these pants to teach yoga, and instead of being completely barefoot, it was great to have that extra protection under my feet on cold studio floors. I live in Ohio, so it is a big deal to find something that keeps my feet and legs warmer during these frigid winter months.
I’m not a big fan of flip-flops or having anything in between my toes, so the fabric that rests there was a little uncomfortable for me at first. If you don’t like wearing flip-flops, these pants probably are not for you.

“Having fun and being happy are the best ingredients to better your life. It is important to learn to ‘hit the pause button’ on your busy life and make some time for YOU! I encourage each of you to get up and add endorphins to your life. No matter where I am, I aim to be present and find joy in my practice. I wish the same for you.” – Michele Bohbot
One way I bring more fun, energy, and positivity to my practice is by going to yoga classes where the teacher plays music (fantastic music). It just adds so much excitement to the class – at least to me!
If I fall out of a pose I try to laugh it off instead of making it into a big embarrassing scene in class!
I always have a smile on my face (even if it is a strained smile) and just when I think I can’t do anymore I say to my teacher “Bring it on!” and keep pushing myself. (I’ve lost 45lbs since starting yoga in Sept!)
well, mine is pretty obvious… i’m letting go of the guilt which is definitely helping me bring more joy and pleasure to my practice! also some dancing during sun salutations definitely get me to lighten up during practice! 😉
When I start to feel antsy or need a change, I will get off my mat and just DANCE. 🙂
staying positive in yoga class is easy- just remember to smile during the rough times and don’t be afraid to laugh at yourself!!
I never agreed with Mark Twain on the statement to beware of endeavors that require new clothes! Certainly not a necessity, but sure is fun to wear spiffy yoga duds!
I love to practice with friends. They give me motivation! It’s amazing what a hand squeeze from a friend while in boat pose will do to get you through it!
I like trying different studios and teachers to bring more fun to my yoga practice as well as learning.
I’ve had a good many fun practices over the years, but none compare to the daily post-nap practice I share with my 2-year-old. He loves rolling out our mats — and occasionally tackling me in downdog 🙂
One way I bring more fun, energy, and positivity to my practice is by teaching and practicing with new yogis. There is nothing as exciting as getting to share the joy of practicing yoga with a friend who has never experienced it before. It always reminds me to be playful and curious in my practice.
Drink a green smoothie before class, to with a friend, bring a good attitude, be truly present throughout class, and look forward to that feeling of “ahhhhhh” when I walk out afterwards!
Wow that is some pretty avante garde designs that they have. You girls have all the fun
BTW if you ever want to really get retro / modern with some BeeGee music check out the mashes at Lobsterdust.com especially his Staying Alive remash with Nellie, that migh add some electricity too 🙂
Dave – I am going to plan a giveaway real soon for just you awesome broginis!! Thanks for the music reco – I’m off to check it out right now. And speaking of that I need to post some of my latest yoga class playlists SOON!
I have learned that what I create on my mat has the uncanny ability to follow me off my mat. Therefore, I continually set an intention of joy in my personal practice. It never fails, that I leave feeling positive and energized.
To bring more energy and positivity to my yoga practice in the beginning of class I dedicate my practice to someone or something. So that way I can send out all my positive energy to the person or goal that I dedicated it to and send out only good vibes to them or it.
I’m still a bit new to yoga so it’s still exciting for me. Due to lack of funding I have using DVDs for my current practice. I keep it fun by having a playlist on YouTube and switching it up when I can.
Have never seen this brand but I’m digging their look. Very cool. Tweeted!
I try to bring more fun and energy/positive to my yoga pracice in that I always attempt to talk – comment, joke with, complement – someone I don’t know. I find that it makes our class feel more like a community and eases the way for smiles!
Getting to know my instructors allows me to feel more comfortable trying new things and a sense of community when practicing every day.
My yoga practice is fun, energetic, and downright electric thanks to flying through the air. Thanks for helping me catch aerial fever!
I just started doing yoga about a month ago. To get me moving I just started a month of unlimited so I can learn a lot quickly as a beginner. I also made plans to start going to a regular weekly class with a few other people to keep us motivated.
I bring more fun, energy, and positivity to my practice by doing something different every day, whether it’s a new pose, a new style, or just an online practice that I haven’t tried before. It keeps things fun and interesting and lets me do something I love every day.
I take a yoga fusion class on Tuesdays and Saturdays that combines fun, fast-paced music with weights and yoga poses. It’s helped me to be more laid back about my yoga practice and to learn to not take it too seriously. I lose my balance all the time lifting weights while holding static poses, but I just laugh it off and enjoy the company of the others in my class 🙂 Fun colored workout gear also helps!
I love to take classes and workshops from many different teachers at different studios. I take little pieces: quotes, phrasing, differents poses; and bring those into my personal practice.
I smile and bring a positive attitude! I liked EY on FB and twitter and I tweeted too 🙂
I’ve got chills…they’re multiplying
