This retreat has been designed specifically for women who are experiencing PMS, or struggling with perimenopausal or menopause symptoms. If you are encountering some of the challenges that arise as we mature, for example, weight gain, sleeplessness, fatigue, joint stiffness, hot flashes, memory loss, loss of sex drive, hair loss, irritability, self-doubt, melancholy or even cravings for sweets, then this retreat is for you!

The weekend  will be filled with soul nurturing and inspirational  yoga and pranayama, mind clearing meditation, the healing practice of Reiki, reflection, and powerful workshops designed to help you let go of your inner critic, connect with your inner mentor, reinvent your health, and  manifest the life you desire.

  • Immerse yourself in a daily practice of yoga designed to bring healing and balance. The yoga practice will be adapted so that all-levels can participate

Maria Santoferraro E-RYT 500 Yoga & Meditation Instructor

Maria spent over 25 years in the crazy corporate world. Needing a detox from an unhealthy Blackberry addiction, boatloads of stress, and an aching back, she sought out a healthier lifestyle and is grateful to have found her physical and spiritual release through the practice of yoga.

Today she is living a balanced and blissful life, teaching yoga, leading international yoga retreats, sharing inspiration on the Daily Downward Dog, creating meditation videos for Hang 10 Meditation, and contributing her writing to Elephant Journal, Daily Cup of Yoga, and MindBodyGreen.

Her playful, heart-opening teaching combines meditation, breath, alignment, and asana in slow-flowing Hatha yoga classes that encourage students to reconnect to their bodies and breath as a means to fill up with joy. Maria incorporates uplifting class themes, music, poetry, laughter, and the spiritual teachings of yoga to create a peaceful environment where students can quiet their minds, let go, and experience a deep sense of calm and well-being. In 2011 she was able to combine two of her greatest passions – yoga and the beach – to start her own beach yoga “studio” on the beautiful shores of Lake Erie, Ohio, where she has shared yoga with hundreds of students.

Participate in an AUM Meditation (Awareness Understanding Meditation)

The mind/body connection is spoken about often and by engaging in the AUM you will have an opportunity to discover first-hand how your emotions are intimately involved with the expression of your physical body. This playful exercise provides a safe and comfortable environment to discover your edges, connect with your power, learn how to deeply connect with yourself and others, and step deeply into your life. You will embrace the art of meditation and learn about the many facets it has to offer.

 

Maria is amazing!!! I am 44 years old and suffering from surgical menopause. I have had hot flashes, night sweats, foggy mind, insomnia and weight gain over the past few months. I have tried over the counter medication with no relief. I can’t take hormone replacement due to a history of blood clots, and the only other option my doctors could recommend were anti-depression pills, whose side effects is helping with hot flashes. I was going crazy!! My co-worker suggested I contact Maria and I’m so thankful I did. We meet for a private session and it was amazing.
