Slow Flow Vinyasa and Meditation: An uplifting class that begins with a seated pranayama (breath) exercise, followed by a slower paced yet invigorating vinyasa yoga practice. The last 15 minutes of class are dedicated to a long sweet savasana and instruction for a quiet period of meditation to help your mind calm and let your body relax and absorb the peace and stillness. If you are seeking detailed asana and meditation instruction, or desire a slower paced yoga practice with longer holds and focus on breath and proper alignment, this class is for you! Class length is 75 minutes and is held in the Ganesha (non-heated) studio. All levels welcome.
Gentle Flow: These classes begin with warm-ups and proceed to step-by-step asana instruction, providing you with an active yet gentle practice that focuses on breath work, strengthening of the core and back, stretching, toning, relaxation, and meditation. This class will help you open up areas of tightness, such as hips and shoulders, and get you moving with basic Sun Salutations sequences—always with suggestions for modifications and proper alignment. Perfect for those newer to yoga, or who desire a slower paced yoga practice in a supportive and fun environment. Class length is 60 minutes and is held in the Ganesha (non-heated) Studio.
Meet the Heat: Have you always wanted to try a class in the hot room but felt a little intimidated by the heat? Come join Maria and meet the heat in a welcoming slow flowing vinyasa class with lots of breaks to catch your breath and wipe off the sweat. This slower paced yet invigorating practice will include time for a long sweet savasana and guided meditation. Find your bliss in a fun and supportive environment. Class length: 60 minutes All levels welcome.
Sunday Night Stretch and Unwind: So, it’s Sunday night and you’re already stressed out thinking about the week to come. If this sounds like you, this class will help you unwind, quiet the mind, and relax. We’ll start with a grounded and healing asana practice combined with meditative breathing to help you redirect your prana (energy) and breath into releasing tension and stress from the body. The second portion of class will focus on deeper, restorative stretches and meditation – each week a different and new experience from guided, silent, mantra, yoga nidra, breath work, and moving will be explored. This practice will quiet the mind and prepare you for a restful sleep so you can flow into the coming week with peace, clarity, and inspiration. The Ganesha Studio at Yoga Bliss will be dimly lit and filled with peaceful music. All levels welcome.

About Maria Santoferraro, E-RYT 200/RYT 500
Maria is a graduate of Marietta College and spent the past 25 years ravaging her body in the crazy corporate world. Needing a detox from an unhealthy lifestyle, boatloads of stress, and an aching back, she sought out a healthier lifestyle and went back to the one form of exercise that has always brought her joy and relief—yoga!
The practice of yoga has helped Maria heal her back from the chronic pain she experienced as a result of being diagnosed with scoliosis as a teenager. But more than relieving stress and feeling better both physically and spiritually, it has brought her a new balanced way of living that has enhanced her well-being. Maria’s passion for yoga has led her to gain her 200-hour teaching certification from Try4Life and also blossomed into this blog. In January of 2016 Maria completed her 300-hour advanced yoga teacher training with Namaste Yoga Studio. Over the last few years, Maria has been fortunate to study with Erich Schiffmann, Angela Farmer, Doug Keller, Max Strom, Rodney Yee, Kathryn Budig, and Cora Wen. She plans to continue her yoga education and journey for the rest of her life.
Maria loves to keep her classes lighthearted and fun while helping to demystify yoga and educate her students on the benefits of yoga both on and off the mat. With a different playlist every week and a variety of uplifting class themes, she keeps her classes fresh and creative. Maria’s goal is to share the benefits of yoga for everyone, especially those who think they are too old or too inflexible.
