Top Thrill Yoga Retreat | August 28 – 30, 2015
It is always a treat to escape to Cedar Point for a few days to get away from it all and ride the roller coasters like Top Thrill Dragster, Maverick, and the record-breaking Millennium Force. Now imagine how cool it would be to visit Cedar Point and stay in a beautiful beachfront resort and recharge in between those Cedar Point vacation adventures by practicing yoga and meditation on their beautiful one mile stretch of beach!
This August 28–30, the newly transformed and iconic Hotel Breakers at Cedar Point is where you will want to roll out your yoga mat. Join Maria Santoferraro for a weekend of “Top Thrill” Beach Yoga and Meditation. This weekend yoga retreat kicks off Friday evening with a sunset yoga and meditation class, includes a special full moon beach yoga class on Saturday night, and continues through early Sunday. When you’re not relaxing with Maria’s gentle yoga flows, there will be lots of time to try out the thrilling rides at Cedar Point, unwind at the hotel’s outdoor pool deck, or stroll along the gorgeous sandy beach.
Maria has a special weekend of themed yoga classes that will help you prepare your body and mind not only for the roller coasters in the park, but the roller coaster of life. Come breathe, stretch, meditate, relax, feed the soul, and find your bliss at Cedar Point. (Admission to Cedar Point or reservations at Hotel Breakers is not required for you to attend any of the retreat weekend – see individual class information below.)

What to Bring
Bring your own sunscreen and yoga mat or beach towel, although there will be a few complimentary mats for those who need one. You should also bring an old sheet or a beach towel to place under your yoga mat to aid in keeping sand off. You will also want to bring lots of water to drink, plus sunglasses or a hat for sunny days. No shoes needed; we will practice barefoot. You are welcome to bring your own yoga props (blocks, straps, etc.).
In case of inclement weather, the yoga classes will be held inside Cedar Point’s Convention Center near Hotel Breakers.
Retreat Class Description
All levels welcome! Each beach yoga session will start out with warm-ups and proceed to yoga instruction, providing you with an active yet gentle practice that focuses on breath work, strengthening of the core and back, stretching, toning, relaxation, and meditation. Each class will help you open up areas of tightness, such as the hips and shoulders, and get you moving with basic Sun Salutations sequences—always with suggestions for modifications. If you are feeling stressed out, you will leave these classes feeling refreshed and inspired.
